For our main feature we take a look at how Christmas is celebrated in all 6 Disney resorts around the world and we share a snippet of music from each. Which is your favourite?

In Disney's California Adventure we find the Buena Vista Street Community Bell Ringers; a very traditional approach to Christmas.
Whilst over at Walt Disney World we take in a stage show from Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party called Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration,
Hoping over the pond to Disneyland Paris we have a listen to their Christmas Parade.
Travelling east to Hong Kong Disneyland we get to experience Mickey and Friends Christmastime Ball.

Followed by Christmas Swing at Shanghai Disneyland.
Whilst at Tokyo's Disney Sea we take in a wonderful performance of the classic Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Followed by a very up tempo version of 'White Christmas' as performed in the Tokyo Disneyland Disney Christmas Stories Parade.

But we finish off with Michelle's favourite the Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland.
So which is your favourite? We have some opinions but do you agree with us?

We'd just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe, healthy and happy New Year.

On this weeks show, Michelle is joined by Kat and Lewis to talk through a range of Disney topics and one of them is Ralph Breaks the Internet (pretty much spoiler free).

A113
On the show, Lewis revealed he hadn't heard of what A113. So we thought we would share what this is and suggest some other Easter eggs from the film.

So A113 is an inside joke, an Easter egg created by alumni of the California Institute of the Arts, referring to the classroom used by graphic design and character animation students including Disney and Pixar's  John Lasseter, Tim Burton and Brad Bird. In Ralph Breaks the Internet look out for A113 when Vanellope runs past a room on her way to meet the princesses in the Oh My Disney section of the film.

Now you know about A113 you need to be on the look out for it as it has appeared in every Pixar movie as well as lots of other Disney films, video games and various TV shows and animations.

Coming up on this weeks show, we have a few news items and then we answer some listener questions.

The Cove
A new hotel will be coming in the next two years from Marriot International to the area adjacent to The Swan and Dolphin. This new development will have 349 rooms and a rooftop venue for weddings and private hire.
Concept Air For The Cove
25 Days of Christmas Show on Disney Now App

Jayne discusses the sneak peak of the new Lightning McQueen Racing Academy being show on 'Disney Parks Presents a 25 Days of Christmas Holiday Party' TV special. The attraction opens in Spring 2019 and will be located in Sunset Showcase at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

The attraction will immerse guests in the world of Cars but is this just going to be a fancy meet 'n' greet??

New Desserts at Jolly Holiday Bakery
Over in Disneyland you can spend around $13.99 for two enhanced desserts that are themed around the Mary Poppins Return movie.
The first option is a chocolate cake with a crème center, finished with ganache, chocolate flakes, fondant flower, and a maraschino cherry, served with a souvenir Mary Poppins Spoon.

The second option is a dollar less and is a good old trifle! Inside the plastic cylinder you will find layers of pound cake, mixed berries, raspberry jam, pastry cream, and vanilla bean Chantilly cream, finished with Chocolate Flakes, served with a Souvenir Mary Poppins Spoon.

Gingerbread Houses - Question from Patricia Revie
On the show we answer this question - What attraction would you ask the catering team to create and why? How could you make money from this? This was a great question and I hope you liked the answers that we gave you.

Attraction Uplevelling - Question from Andrea Williams
We were then asked to answer - Choose an attraction to up-level and in doing so consider extra ways of generating extra revenue? Well we had lots of fun with this one!

Touring The World of Disney
Our final listeners question involved tour creation - What tour would you create and what would it involve? So we decided upon a few ideas.

We would love to hear your thoughts on these questions.

Christmas Gifts
We decided to get a little silly and look at the Disney Store website and challenge each other to guess prices and include a gift list for items you may want to buy the special Disney fan in your life.Michelle was very keen on the Muppet babies plush but also the heart shaped Mickey diamond necklaces... however she knows which she is more likely to get!

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 237 for Sunday 25th November 2018.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunes, Libsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

Coming up on this weeks show, Michelle is joined by guest Liz Read to share details about her Run DLP experience as well as her wedding anniversary trip to Walt Disney World. Run DLP
On this segment of the show, Liz talks briefly about the 36K challenge she took part in and what the overall experience was like.
2019 was the third Run Disney event in Paris and Liz has completed every single one! So she is a good person for you to go to if you want to find out anything about it.

Walt Disney World Trip.
Moving away from the running, Liz talks about what she loves about DLP. She offers 6 reasons why you should go and visit: 1. It isn't as tiring as Walt Disney World!
2. Awesome unique attractions such as Crushes Coaster.
3. The park is beautiful.
4. You will feel happy the minute you walk down Main Street.
5. It has an amazing castle.
6. Character interaction is fabulous.
Liz has a fabulous page on Facebook called Run Disney Paris Fans so why not check it out!

Walt Disney World
This October, Liz and her husband Alban celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. So they decided to stay on site at The Beach Club and booked it with the Disney Dining Plan - a first for them both.
As her husband is not as much of a Disney fan as she is, she said that she ensured that she included elements to the trip that she knew he would like. Therefore she reserved meals at The Crystal Palace and Sci Fi Diner (amongst many others discussed on the show).
During her trip, she particularly loved visiting Pandora - The Land of Avatar. Whilst she did not have the chance to ride the Flight of Avatar, she enjoyed walking around the land and riding on the Na'vi River Journey. Another fun thing at Animal Kingdom she enjoyed was being a Wilderness Explorer and she reminds everyone - this is just not for children!
Another highlight for Liz was meeting characters! She had lots of fun at meeting a whole host of them too! She managed to Eat at Be Our Guest Restaurant and was overwhelmed with how regal the Beast looked in his attire.
Liz also attended Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party and was thrilled to meet Winnie the Poo and Friends. Their outfits were very cute and a rare chance to get a picture with the four of them.
Another unique experience was to attend Mickeys Backyard BBQ and Liz loved the character interaction as well as the tasty food.
If you want to contact Liz to find out more about her adventures, she can be found on Twitter @NoregretsLiz and her You Tube channel is Fairy Godmother.

As usual, you can our podcast in all good podcast catching places and if you enjoyed the show - why not leave us a review on iTunes.

Show 235 - Cruising and Walt Disney World Mash Up

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 235 for Sunday 11th November 2018.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunes, Libsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

On this weeks show, Michelle is joined by first time guests Emily and Alex to talk about their recent mother/son Disney Cruise Line experience and then to look forwards to their Thanksgiving trip to Walt Disney World. For the purposes of this blog, we will focus on the Cruise Line element of the show.
Emily and Michelle on the Disney Fantasy
Michelle actually got to meet Emily whilst onboard and the story of the meet up is shared on the show.
How did Alex spend his cruise time?
Alex talked on the show about being able to check himself in and out of the childrens club (as being ten years old, this is something he was able to do).
Disney provides kids clubs for different age groups:
  • "its a Small World" nursery
  • Disney's Oceaneer Club and Lab (for 3-12 year olds)
  • Edge (for tweens)
  • Vibe (for teens)
Alex spent his time betwwen the Oceaneer Club and Lab and he really liked the ability to 'pilot' the Millenium Falcon. There was lots of other activities in the clubs and he was able to make new friends and hang out with them at other parts of the ship with them.
A big favourite was popping by the self serve ice-cream area and grabbing a snack before heading to the Donald's pool to watch a movie on the funnel vision TV.
How did Emily spend her cruise time?
At the end of each day a new navigator was put in their stateroom. This document listed all the activities for the following day. Additionally, this information was available on the Disney Cruise Line app (sadly only goes 'live' once onboard your cruise).
Using these documents, Emily was able to schedule trivia quizzes in between time spent at one of the the adult only pool areas. Additionally, she bought day passes to the Rain Forest Spa and once there she was able to relax even further using the facilities.

How did the pair keep in touch?
Emily was able to loan Alex a phone and then they were able to communicate via the messaging facility on the cruise line app. Alex would simply message his mum and state where he was.

Positives for the cruise
There were so many! However,  they both felt they were able to get the most out of their holiday. Emily had peace of mind Alex was going to be entertained and she found lots to keep herself busy.
Another positive was Castaway Cay! The family beach was packed with things to do but they caution that the shallower water did get murky quickly due to the numbers of people using it. However, the tranquil bliss of the adults beach compensated Emily for this and even with just an hour here, she loved it!

Negatives
They chose the later dinner and they felt that this led to Alex missing out on some of the kids club activities and they were very hungry by the time they got to eat.

If you want to know about their plans for Thanksgiving plus lots more information about their trip - make sure you listen to the podcast!

Show 234 - Disney, Marvel and Beaches & Cream

Welcome to the show notes for the Disney Dream Girls Podcast, show number 234 for Sunday 4th November 2018.  If you want to listen, whilst reading these notes, just click the player below or alternatively find us in iTunes, Libsyn, on Stitcher Radio or via any good podcast catching app.

Coming up on this weeks show, Michelle is joined by Kat and Lewis from Dis Down Under.
On this show,  Michelle takes the opportunity of having this duo of Marvel fans on the show to chat about some news and developments that are coming to the parks.
Then, the trio review the very popular eatery - Beaches and Cream. This table service restaurant can be found at the Beach Club Resort and is open from 11am to 11pm daily. A reservation is highly recommended and we advise that you try to book yours as soon as the 180 day booking window opens. However, if you are unable to grab an Advanced Dining Reservation (ADR) they also have a take out counter.
The design is that of a boardwalk style ice cream shop, with its own jukebox and peach and blue colour scheme. On the menu you will find a range of classic burgers, sandwiches and a mouthwatering range of different ice-cream offerings.
Michelle with a No Way Jose!
On the show, the trio discuss what they ate and the fabulous interactions they had with the cast members that work there.
One thing this eatery is renown for is the Kitchen Sink Challenge. This is a literal kitchen sink filled with ice-cream and a variety of toppings - its quite the challenge!

Coming up on todays show, Michelle and Jayne bring forward two news items, a main feature and a rapid trio of dining reviews!

We start the show with a couple of news items. Michelle chats about the recent talk in the media about certain famous actresses not allowing their children to watch certain Disney princess films. Michelle has her opinions especially as one of the films mentioned is her favourite, Snow White. Have a listen and see whether you agree with the girls.

Next Jayne has a look at some upcoming 'sweet treats' due out in November at Walt Disney World. Now our Jayne is not one for too much sweetness but some of these offerings may have more style over substance than anything else. The girls have a chat but what do you think - do these offerings sound appealing or are they just another 'instagram' moment?

Our main feature this week has the girls imaginations working as they come up with some ice-cream flavours to represent each country of World Showcase at Epcot. We have suggestions from apple pie & cheese flavour to maple syrup & bacon and many more! Some more ridiculous than others!

We finish this weeks show with some quick fire food reports from Michelle following her latest visit to Walt Disney World. We have the The Polite Pig in Disney Springs;

Followed by the Tune In Lounge at Disney's Hollywood Studios;

And then Trader Sam's Grog Grotto at the Polynesian resort;
